Forums > Feedback > Bug while loading?
Hi.
When I try to view a pano with the java applet viewer, the load stops at 80%. And it can happen in a pano previously seen with the java viewer (then and unexplained, don't load more than the foretold 80%).
Don't know what could be...
With all panoramas?
I don't know why but I also sometimes have a similar problem -- but only with Firefox. But to me, the loader stops on 80%, and after a few seconds (5-10) it display the panorama... Do you use firefox or IE?
Maybe it have something to do with the fact that for javascript panoramas I use the original (and much bigger photo) than the one used with javascript panos.
I'll have to investigate more on this problem...
I use Firefox; I wait to the 100% loading too but never comes.
It happens even to a panos that previously had loaded perfectly!
This happens with IE to?
Do you have Windows, OSX or Linux?
I'm still puzzled by this bug ;(
I think I found the error. It is the fact that ptviewer (the java applet viewer) must convert the image from the equirectangular projection to some more "viewer friendly" format. Probably cubic (not 100% sure, since I didn't look at the code yet).
Spherical panoramas are bigger than normal one (both in kilobytes and in vertical angle) -- I use the original file (non-cropped and non-resized). This file is bigger than the one used for javascript viewer... And the bigger it is -- the more CPU % it uses before it can show the image. That's why it stops at 80%. If you look at the CPU usage -- you will notica that java is at the top.
I'll create new images with sizes specially for java/applet viewer. Hope it will be ready this weekend...
Sorry for the delay.
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.12 on Windows XP.
Hope you can fix it.
;-)
Great! Now works perfectly!
Good job man. All the images I've tried load fine with the java viewer.
