Snežnik is not part of the Alps and is only 1796m high. But is is one of the best panoramic points in Slovenia. From the summit, and when the weather permits is, you can see 90% of Slovenia, big part of Croatia, Istra, Italy... The name Snežnik comes from "sneg" (snow in Slovenian).
